Vega and Duncan Declared co-Winners in Rain Shortened Event

Orlando, Florida.  The SunCoast Ladies Series wrapped up the third event of the season this afternoon with tournament officials having to cancel the third and final round due to heavy rains.  At approximately 2:00 p.m. heavy rains moved into the area forcing officials to pull all players off of the golf course.  "I was hoping to get all of the players back out to finish", said Scott Walker, Director of the Series. "I had a target time of 4:15 p.m.  If I could have gotten all of the players back on the course by that time we could have possibly finished.  At 3:35 p.m. I made the decision to cancel the final round making it official after thirty-six holes due to more anticipated rains coming through the area on the radar.  Even if we had gotten back out we would not have been

able to finish the final round due to darkness and with the host facility not being able to facilitate a Friday morning finish due to their commitment to member play the only option was to call it."

The SunCoast Series will be conducting a mixed team event on Tuesday February 3 at Rio Pinar CC in Orlando.  The series will resume fifty-four hole competitions February 10-12 at Deer Island CC in Tavares, FL.
